Choosing online counseling can be a good and suitable possibility to receive uncomplicated and quick professional help wherever you are.
Online counseling is possible even in the most remote locations; it can be accessed easily with a computer, tablet or smartphone.

It can also help people who can’t easily get to regular treatment sessions because of time or distance. Some people find it less confronting than speaking directly to a counselor or psychologist.

I also offer evening appointments, which are aimed specifically at parents and couples ( in individual and couple counseling ). In addition to work and childcare, it is often simply not possible to find additional appointments during the day.

I have also completed a course for psychotherapeutic online counseling.

Online Counselling Limits
Please be aware that I am registered in Austria and that psychotherapeutic online counseling does not replace psychotherapy in the sense of Austrian psychotherapy regulations. Online counseling cannot provide adequate support in all cases. Serious mental disorders require therefore in-person contact. Please contact local psychotherapists or emergency services in that case.

I am collaborating with my expat clients to recognize each person’s unique life history. My goal is to help facilitate change and personal growth and help my expat clients gain insight into their patterns, difficulties and relationships.

I’ve lived many years abroad in France and Germany and travelled for a long time in South East Asia, South America and Australia. I also have a PhD in Linguistic and find the intersection of cultures, languages  and the psychological impact fascinating.

I’m aware of the pitfalls that can happen when you have multiple countries and languages in your life.

I offer my therapy sessions in German, English and French.

When appropriate, I will cooperate with psychiatrists and other health practitioners. I provide individual, group, couples and child therapy.

“Relationships are hard”. Even when people get along really well, stress and daily life can cause conflicts that seem difficult or even impossible to resolve. Relationship counseling can help people in these tough situations to work through their problems and move beyond them.

Couples counseling is often used to address problems, it can be helpful at any stage of a relationship, also to end a relationship well and in a healthy way.

When to Seek Relationship Counseling

  • You have trouble expressing your feelings to one another
  • You have one or more unsolvable disagreement
  • There is withdrawal, criticism, or contempt in your interactions
  • A stressful event has shaken your daily life
  • You have trouble making decisions together
  • You have experienced infidelity, addiction, or abuse

What Is Imago Therapy?

The concept of Imago as an image of familiar love suggests that your early relationships teach you something about love and about yourself. Through these early experiences, you develop a sense of an identity related to love, such as what love is and what you need to do in order to experience love from others and feel safe.

In your early relationships, you start to develop a sense of self-worth based on how you are treated by important people in your life. You start to develop attachment patterns and gain a sense of how you think you should be treated by others.

Multicultural/multilingual relationship:

The benefits of a multicultural/multilingual relationship are numerous, the beauty of another language and another culture, is so appealing and attractive at first. Over time, however, the challenges that these differences bring can become the root cause of many struggles a couple may face. The common language, plays a role here: is it someone’s mother tongue or is the common language (lingua franca) a second language to both? Does the couple live in the country of origin of one or the other, or in a third neutral country? Is there support from family and friends? How is the social network established? Did somebody give up an already established life and network? Such factors need to be taken into consideration as they all potentially contribute to an imbalance that can cause major challenges within the relationship beyond the “normal couple issues”.

Working with multicultural couples requires a special awareness and appreciation of languages and communication styles. As a licensed psychotherapist and linguist, and as someone who lives in a multilingual relationship myself, I am very aware of the challenges that couples maybe confronted with. I met my Dutch-Australian partner in Cambodia, and we currently live in Vienna, Austria with our two children. Our family language is a mix of English, German, French and Dutch.

As a licensed psychotherapist and Phd in linguistic, and as someone who lives in a multilingual relationship myself, I am very aware of the challenges that individuals, couples and children may be confronted with. Fees:

  • Psychotherapy fee is 120 Euro for a 50 min session. (same fee is charged for the initial therapy session)
  • Couples counseling: 250 Euro for a  90 min session.
  • Coaching (50min) private: 160Euro / corporate: on request
  • Supervision: 140Euro ( 50 min)

It is anticipated that we will hold a weekly session for 50 min. Individual arrangements can be arranged as required.

We will see each other normally once a week for 50 min. If required we can also make special arrangements.

It is possible to make an appointment via mail or phone.

If you must cancel your therapy appointment, we require 24 hours notice. Please note, if you do not give 24 hours notice you will be required to reimburse the full amount of the session.

Payment is due at each session ( cash or card).

You are entitled to a reimbursement from your health insurance.

    What Should I Expect?
    We will meet every 2 weeks for 1 ½ hour (90min). Fee will be 60Euros per session.
    Our group will focus on depression, panic disorder, social anxiety and transcultural issues (loneliness, low self-esteem, anger management).

    Benefits of Group Therapy
    Joining a group of strangers may sound intimidating at first, but group therapy provides benefits that individual therapy may not.

    Regularly talking and listening to others also helps you put your own problems in perspective. Many people experience mental health difficulties, but few speak openly about them to people they don’t know well. Oftentimes, you may feel like you are the only one struggling — but you’re not. It can be a relief to hear others discuss what they’re going through, and realize you’re not alone.

    Diversity is another important benefit of group therapy. People have different personalities and backgrounds, and they look at situations in different ways. By seeing how other people tackle problems and make positive changes, you can discover a whole range of strategies for facing your own concerns.
